Looking Back and Forging Ahead—Well Rested

It’s amazing the transformation I’ve gone through in the past three weeks in regards to sleep. When Estroven contacted me I was frustrated, drug out, exhausted, crabby and dreaded going to bed. Bedtime meant itchy crawly skin and restless legs that just wouldn’t let me relax enough to sleep. If I was lucky enough to fall asleep, more times than not I would wake around 2 a.m. to use the bathroom and not be able to fall asleep for another hour or so.

I’ve been doing a little internet surfing to learn a little bit more about menopause. This is a subject that wasn’t broached by my mother and as I am just now starting perimenopause I wanted to see what I had to look forward to. Reaching Milestones in the Journey

It’s here ... it’s official. My babies are growing up and there’s nothing I can do about it! We just dropped Emma off for her first day of kindergarten. Although I thought I would be sobbing when I left, I fought back the tears for her. She seemed a little worried (she wouldn’t smile ... huge sign) and I didn’t want to upset her more.

She made it without crying and so did I.

Crossing “Improve Sleep” Off the To-do List

now what

I am now headed into week 10 of the 3 month Estroven Good Sleep Challenge. My sleep has improved dramatically and is registering at a steady 97% efficiency on my fitbit. I am feeling well rested, am thinking clearer and my patience with my children has improved (when I’m tired I have a very short fuse).

So now what?!

Sleeping Wherever is a Fairytale

That is the feeling I had Sunday as I sat for five long hours in a plane waiting for our chance to take off.

Yes. Five. Hours.
